About Anna Quindlen
Anna Quindlen, an award winning author, journalist, woman, mother and wife. She is the author of sixteen non-fiction and fiction works, as well as two children's books, and many, many columns. Starting off in 1974 as a reporter for the New York Times, Quindlen eventually left to pursue writing novels, such as Object Lessons (1991), Black and Blue (1998), and Every Last One: A Novel (2010). Later, she wrote for Newsweek for ten years, and announced her semi-retirement in May of 2009.
She is well known to write about American social problems, usually concerning the materialistic and fast-paced nature of United States culture. Quindlen succeeded in winning the Pulitzer Prize (1992) in Commentary for one of her New York Times collections titled "Public and Private".
